In this post I would like to introduce myself and give you an idea of what you may find at this blog site.

My name is Russ Bergen and I live in southern Manitoba, Canada, about an hour from the American boarder. Although cold, and having snow on the ground for about six months of the year, Canadians like me, enjoy to taking advantage of the nice weather we do get. My version of taking advantage of the nice weather is to get out and golf.

I LOVE GOLF! I guess some would say I have an unhealthy obsession with the game. I will say that my obsession has afforded me to bring my handicap down to 8, with a goal of a 3 – 5 handicap. I have enjoyed the game for about 35 years, however, in the past three years I have given golf a more serious effort. I am on a journey to becoming the best golfer I can be. On a good year, where I live, golf courses will open towards the end of April or beginning of May. The season usually wraps up towards the end of October. In essence, we get 26 weeks of golf, in which I try to get in about 100 rounds. I would imagine that for most golfers this would be considered a short season. This leaves 26 weeks of indoor practice or just sitting on the couch without touching your clubs. Some folks who have the means, head out to the southern areas of the United States during the winter, (or other southern destinations) for golf vacations (lucky them). Seeing I am not one of the lucky ones, I head over to an indoor golf dome once a week to keep my swing somewhat ready for April. For those of you wondering, the golf dome is an inflatable, indoor driving range. I will give you a more detailed rundown when I feature the dome in another post.

This blog site will entertain everything golf. I will do many reviews on various pieces of golf equipment (clubs, tees, balls, and other gadget-type stuff), the golf dome, golf simulator establishments in the area where I live, PGA and LIV tournaments, YouTube golf, and much more. If it relates to golf, I’ll write about it. I will also include some course review within my area so that if you ever find yourself in southern Manitoba, you may have an idea where you might want to grab a tee time and see what golf in Manitoba has to offer. I may offer affiliate links so you can check out some golf related products as well. By the way, my age is 6_, and although obsessed with golf, I like to have fun on the course. I love shooting the best I can, but I won’t take myself too seriously.
